In 1991, For Dog's Sake opened a small storefront shop located in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. For over 17 years our mission has been to offer the finest products available for dogs and cats and to be a reliable honest source of information on companion animal care with a special emphasis on the holistic approach.

Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that nature is the only perfect system and that there is no substitute for fresh, wholesome food, clean water, excercise fresh air and the avoidance of chemicals and drugs to the greatest extent possible.

The products we offer use only the highest quality all natural ingredients, and whenever possible, are predominantly human-grad and organically produced. We are proud to be the Mid-west distributors of Abady brrand dog and cat food. In business for over 30 years, the Abady Company offers what we believe is the best pet food commercially available.

In 2005, For Dog's Sake relocated into a beautiful, spacious facility with plenty of parking. Here we have an in increased storage capacity that enables us to purchase larger quantities and offer better prices. Our new location also provides the proper space for fostering abandoned / lost animals and hosting adoption events - something that supports our strong commitment to animal rescue.

For Dog's Sake is recognized by veterinarians and trainers throughout Chicagoland and praised for our ability to help customers sift through the ocean of confusion and misinformation relevant to canine and feline health. As a direct result of sound nutritional recommendations, For Dog's Sake has developed a very loyal and committed clientele.
